Product update

Newsletters go out through Amazon SES from 4 November

Newsletters need a different mail server than tickets. A ticket goes to one buyer, right after the purchase. A newsletter goes to hundreds of people at once, and every address that bounces and every spam report decides whether the next email arrives. So from 4 November 2026, Usetix sends the newsletters you write in email marketing through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES).

What changes

  • Newsletters are sent from newsletter@news.usetix.io, with your shop’s name as the sender and your support address for replies.
  • Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg, becomes a new sub-processor. It sends from a data center in Stockholm, Sweden, inside the EU.
  • Amazon receives what delivery needs: the recipient’s address and name and the content of the email. And only if you use email marketing.
  • Newsletters only go to buyers who confirm their sign-up through a link in an email (double opt-in). Consents given before stay valid.

What stays the same

  • Tickets, order confirmations and sign-in links still go through our own mail server in Germany.
  • If an address bounces permanently or someone marks a newsletter as spam, Usetix stops sending newsletters to it, for every organizer.

Your data processing agreement

We’ve updated the data processing agreement and the privacy policy. If you have an important data protection reason to object to the new sub-processor, write to support@usetix.io by 4 November 2026.
